Amazon Prime Video Secures Rights to Stream Emmy Awards
Amazon has signed a six-year deal to stream the Emmy Awards on Prime Video, beginning with the 2027 ceremony. The event will be free for global audiences to view.

Amazon Prime Video will become the new streaming home for the Emmy Awards under a six-year agreement. The shift begins with the 2027 ceremony, scheduled for next September, moving the prestigious awards show from its traditional broadcast television slot.
While the stream will be hosted on Prime Video, it will be accessible to viewers worldwide without requiring a Prime Video subscription. Industry publication Deadline reports that Amazon paid an estimated $20-25 million annually for the rights, bringing the total deal value to upwards of $120 million.
The agreement marks a significant change for the Emmys, which have historically aired on broadcast networks in the United States. This move integrates the awards show into Amazon's digital platform, aiming for broader global reach.
