Amazon Q Integrates Data with AWS Glue Using Natural Language
Amazon Web Services has launched Amazon Q as a data integration capability within AWS Glue. This new generative AI-powered feature allows users to build data integration pipelines using natural language.

Amazon Q Streamlines Data Integration with AWS Glue
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the general availability of Amazon Q's data integration capability within AWS Glue. This new development leverages generative artificial intelligence, enabling users to construct data integration pipelines solely by using natural language.
The feature, part of the broader Amazon Q Developer suite, aims to significantly accelerate and simplify the process of data integration. For instance, users can prompt Amazon Q to generate complete Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) scripts or individual code snippets for data transformations. The AI can also assist in troubleshooting by explaining errors and proposing solutions.
Amazon Q Developer supports data transfer from a variety of sources, including Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Redshift, and Amazon DynamoDB. Additionally, it can connect to third-party services, SaaS solutions, and custom data sources. With the new capabilities, Amazon Q can create more complex data integration workflows involving multiple sources, destinations, and transformations.
The feature supports ingesting data into S3 data lakes in formats such as CSV, JSON, and Parquet. It can also transfer data into open table formats like Apache Hudi, Delta Lake, and Apache Iceberg. The AWS Glue service provides the ready-made tools and technologies that Amazon Q utilizes to automate these processes.
