Amazon Raises Prices on Echo, Fire TV, and Kindle Devices
Amazon has increased prices on a range of its consumer electronics, including Echo speakers, Fire TV devices, and Kindle e-readers, citing rising component costs.

Amazon has implemented price hikes on several of its popular consumer electronics, affecting Echo smart speakers, Kindle e-readers, Fire TV streaming devices, and Eero Wi-Fi systems. The company attributed the increases to "significant increases in memory and storage component costs."
The most substantial percentage increases were observed on Amazon's lower-priced devices. The Echo Dot smart speaker saw its price jump from $49.99 to $79.99. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max experienced a rise of over 40 percent, now retailing at $84.99. Additionally, the base model Kindle e-reader increased by nearly 37 percent to $149.99.
Higher-tier products also saw adjustments. The Echo Dot Max, launched last year, is now priced at $119.99, up from $99.99. These price changes place Amazon's Echo Dot Max in closer competition with Apple's HomePod Mini, which also saw a price increase to $129 earlier this summer.
The company's decision to raise prices on these devices, particularly those in its core smart home and digital reading segments, signals a potential shift in pricing strategy amidst ongoing supply chain cost pressures affecting the technology sector.
