Amazon reports third-quarter financial results for 2026

Amazon posted $201.9 billion in revenue for the third quarter of 2026, while net income dipped slightly to $20.7 billion.

30 October 2026

Amazon released its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, reporting total revenue of $201.9 billion, a 12% increase year-over-year. Net income fell by 2.37% to $20.69 billion. The company noted that the decline in net profit was primarily due to high-base effects from the previous year, specifically related to pre-tax gains from its investment in Anthropic.

The company's cloud division, AWS, saw significant expansion, with revenue reaching $46.0 billion—a 39% increase compared to the same period last year. AWS maintained a robust operating margin of 38.7%. Despite the slight dip in net income, Amazon achieved a record operating profit of $28.1 billion across all segments.

Capital expenditure remained a focal point of the report, as Amazon continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure. This spending drove free cash flow to a negative $33.5 billion for the period. Amazon management stated that total capital expenditures for the 2026 fiscal year are projected to be approximately $220 billion.
