Amazon updates Echo hardware lineup with new display and audio features
Amazon has unveiled a series of updates to its Echo smart device portfolio, headlined by the 16-inch Echo Show and refreshed speaker architecture.
Amazon announced a series of hardware updates to its Echo smart home product line on Wednesday. The product refresh includes a updated version of the Echo Show, alongside internal hardware improvements for its smart speaker series.
The centerpiece of the announcement is the Echo Show 16, which features a 16-inch display housed in an anodized aluminum frame. According to the company, the device is roughly 40 percent thinner than its predecessor and incorporates a Nanomatte display layer designed to reduce screen glare. The unit includes an upgraded audio architecture, utilizing micro-woofers and two tweeters to enhance sound clarity.
These updates arrive as Amazon seeks to maintain its market share in the competitive smart home hub sector, where device integration and hardware quality remain key differentiators. The refresh aims to address consumer demand for higher-fidelity audio and more versatile screen dimensions in home environments.
The company continues to expand its smart home ecosystem, emphasizing integration between its display-based units and existing network protocols. The new hardware is scheduled to rollout to markets following this announcement.
