Amazon updates Echo Studio smart speaker with integrated camera
Amazon has expanded its Echo Studio lineup by introducing a version featuring an integrated home camera, marking a shift in the device's feature set beyond high-fidelity audio.

Amazon has updated its Echo Studio smart speaker, introducing an integrated home camera alongside the device's existing audio-focused hardware. The new model, released as part of a broader hardware update, maintains the core acoustic specifications of the original device, including a 3.75-inch woofer and three full-range drivers.
While the audio configuration remains largely unchanged, the company is introducing "Advanced Room Adaptation," a software feature designed to adjust sound output based on room acoustics. Both the standard and camera-equipped models continue to utilize the AZ3 Pro processor, which includes a dedicated AI accelerator intended to support the company's generative AI assistant, Alexa+.
The addition of a camera to the Echo Studio platform indicates a strategic pivot toward multifunctional hardware. By combining high-end speaker hardware with surveillance capabilities, the company aims to increase utility for existing smart home users. The devices continue to rely on four-microphone arrays for voice command reception, maintaining parity with previous iterations.
