Ambulance becomes delivery room for birth in Bavaria

In mid-August, a Johanniter rescue team was dispatched to assist with an impending birth in Arnstein, Bavaria. Upon arrival at the mother's home, the team escorted her and her husband into the ambulance.

The delivery occurred rapidly within the ambulance, with the baby girl, named Jule, born safely just minutes after the team's arrival. One part of the crew managed the mother and birth, while another prepared for the newborn's initial care. Both mother and child were medically assessed and found to be in good condition.

As the mother and infant required separate transport to the hospital, a second ambulance equipped with a special bassinet was requested. The family was able to spend initial moments together before being transported to the maternity ward.

Weeks later, the father contacted the Johanniter team to convey his and his wife's personal thanks for the compassionate and professional care they received. The family later met the rescue personnel at the Sennfeld rescue station to share their appreciation and memories of the unusual event.
