The startup, founded in 2024, quickly achieved a significant valuation. World Labs launched its first commercial product, a world generation model named Marble, in 2025. This model allows users to create interactive 3D worlds from text prompts.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year. Dr. Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as EVP and Chief Scientist, reporting to AMD CEO Lisa Su. The World Labs team will continue to focus on advancing AI model research.
This move enhances AMD's position in the rapidly growing AI market, as the company seeks to expand its offerings and compete with other major technology firms.
