America First Acquires Meadows Bank, Expanding Nevada Presence

America First Federal Credit Union (America First) finalized a transaction on May 31, 2026, to acquire substantially all assets and assume liabilities, including all deposits, of Meadows Bank. This acquisition significantly expands America First's presence in Clark County, Nevada, merging two community-focused financial institutions.

The combined entity will hold approximately $26.4 billion in total assets and $22.8 billion in deposits, operating across 122 locations. Meadows Bank customers will gain access to America First's wider range of services and competitive rates, with all Meadows Bank employees retained.

Thayne Shaffer, President and CEO of America First, stated that the transaction aligns with the credit union's strategic objectives by enhancing its infrastructure and broadening business lines, including wealth management. He noted that Meadows Bank's strong community ties, culture, and experienced team made it a fitting partner.

William Bullard, Chairman of Meadows Bank, commented that the partnership reflects Meadows Bank's principles of relationship-driven banking and brings enhanced resources to customers, employees, and communities. Meadows Bank, founded in 2008, had grown to $1.45 billion in assets with six branches across Nevada and Arizona.
