The event produced 250,000 meals aimed at addressing food insecurity for local families. This initiative is recognized as the largest United Way-driven meal packaging event nationwide.
Organized through American Crane's "Hoist Up!" Outreach Committee, the packed meals include macaroni and cheese and apple cinnamon oatmeal. These provisions will be distributed via the Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank, with a portion designated for the Reading School District to support students throughout the academic year.
American Crane has been a participant for several years as part of its "Hoist Up!" initiative, which aims to foster community involvement and employee engagement. The company stated that such collaborative volunteer efforts reinforce a sense of belonging and can enhance workplace motivation.
