American Express has been announced as the title sponsor for the inaugural Hong Kong Sail Grand Prix, as the SailGP championship prepares for its debut in the city on January 23-24, 2027. The financial services company will lend its name to the event, which will be held in Victoria Harbour.
This sponsorship positions American Express at the heart of SailGP's Hong Kong debut, offering eligible Cardmembers exclusive benefits including priority booking ahead of general sales and savings on tickets. The event serves as the opening race of the championship's 2027 season.
American Express's brand will be integrated across the SailGP Race Stadium and event experience, connecting the company with SailGP's combination of high-speed racing, premium hospitality, technology, and entertainment. This partnership also aims to enhance Hong Kong's status as a premier sports event destination.
Tickets will go on sale first to American Express Cardmembers on October 21, 2026, followed by SailGP+ members. General public sales will commence on October 27. The races will feature identical F50 catamarans competing at speeds exceeding 100 km/h close to shore.
