American Regent recalls Adequan products due to glass fibers

American Regent, Inc. Animal Health has initiated a nationwide recall of four lots of its Adequan injection products in the United States. The recall is due to the presence of visible glass fiber material within the products.

The affected products include two lots of Adequan® Canine Injection (for dogs), lot numbers 25011 and 3369, and two lots of Adequan® i.m. Injection (for horses), lot numbers 24416 and 25265P. These products were distributed to retailers across the United States.

The veterinary product manufacturer instructed retailers and distributors to immediately stop distributing these lots and return any remaining stock. The recalled medications are used to support joint function in dogs and horses.

The company advises veterinarians and animal owners to contact them with any questions regarding the recall or if they have observed any issues with the products.
