American Sailing and Aqua Map Expand Collaboration
American Sailing and marine navigation app Aqua Map have expanded their collaboration. The new agreement provides free instructor licenses and offers discounted access to charts and routing for members and students.

American Sailing, an organization focused on sailing education, and marine navigation app Aqua Map have announced an expanded collaboration. The updated agreement provides free application licenses to American Sailing instructors and offers discounted access to charts, routing, and marine forecasts for the organization's members and students nationwide.
The expanded partnership builds upon an existing relationship between the two entities. Aqua Map already supplies certified instructors with teaching kits, free permanent licenses, and student licenses for the duration of courses. The latest agreement further includes discounts for all American Sailing members and enhances support for electronic navigation education.
"Electronic navigation is a crucial part of modern maritime instruction," stated Dave Taylor, CEO of American Sailing. "Our role is to teach safe navigation skills, which now includes the effective use of digital tools. Aqua Map represents the type of technology boaters utilize today, and this collaboration allows our instructors and students to engage with a robust navigation platform."
Aqua Map integrates official nautical charts, local navigation data, route planning, marine weather forecasts, and tide and current information. In the United States, it offers weekly updates to NOAA charts and daily updates to US Coast Guard notices, providing current information on navigational hazards and fairways.
Founded in 1983, American Sailing is a global leader in sailing and boating education, with over 400 affiliated schools and more than 630,000 certified sailors. Aqua Map, developed by GEC srl, is used by over 200,000 boaters and instructors worldwide.
