American Water Foundation awards $10,000 grant to North Scott School District

The American Water Charitable Foundation, along with Iowa American Water, has awarded a $10,000 grant to North Scott Community School District's Regional Innovation Center. This grant is part of the foundation's initiative to support workforce readiness.

The funding is designated to support the center's efforts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The money will be used to develop and expand the district's robotics, LEGO League, and hands-on engineering programs.

According to representatives from North Scott School District, the grant will facilitate the purchase of necessary materials, technology, and curriculum for competitions. The support also covers registration fees for several programs and enhances the district's robotics program for grades 7–12 through investments in new materials, technology upgrades, and 3D printing resources.

The Regional Innovation Center provides students with opportunities to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration skills through hands-on learning. The partnership with Iowa American Water aims to connect local students with innovative career development experiences that prepare them for future roles in technology and engineering fields.
