America's Car Museum Opens Exhibition on Racing Legend Charlie Wiggins

America's Car Museum has opened "Gold & Glory," a new exhibition dedicated to uncovering the story of racing legend Charlie Wiggins. The event aims to bring to light the significant achievements of Wiggins, an American figure in motorsports whose contributions were nearly erased from history.

The centerpiece of the exhibition is the one-of-a-kind Wiggins Special, the actual race car Wiggins built and piloted to four Gold & Glory Sweepstakes championships. The museum seeks to restore Wiggins to his rightful place in the annals of motorsport history.

Wiggins, an African American mechanic and driver, achieved notable success in the 1920s. He competed and won multiple races with vehicles he engineered and constructed himself. However, his story has often been overlooked in historical accounts.
