Americas Cardroom Introduces New Mystery PKO Tournament Format
Americas Cardroom is launching three Halloween Special tournaments featuring the new Mystery PKO format. The events offer a combined total of $650,000 in guaranteed prize pools.
Online poker platform Americas Cardroom is introducing a new tournament format, Mystery PKO (Progressive Knockout), with its Halloween Special series. Three separate tournaments are set to begin on October 18, boasting a combined guaranteed prize pool of $650,000.
The new format, exclusive to the Winning Poker Network, blends the progressive bounty system with hidden "Mystery Bounties." During the Day 2 phase, when a player eliminates an opponent, the opponent's bounty is split. Half is paid directly to the eliminating player, and the other half is added to the eliminator's own progressive bounty. This creates the potential for surprise winnings from "mystery prizes" with each knockout.
The series includes three tiers: a $500,000 guaranteed tournament with a $109 buy-in, a $100,000 guaranteed event with a $33 buy-in, and a $50,000 guaranteed event with a $5.50 buy-in. Day 2 for all three tournaments will take place on November 1.
Players can enter multiple starting flights and combine qualifying stacks for Day 2. No bounty money is awarded for Day 1 eliminations, and all players begin Day 2 with a $0 progressive bounty. Full event details and Mystery PKO mechanics are available on the Americas Cardroom website.
