Amorepacific Museum of Art Presents Sol LeWitt Works in Korea

The Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) will present the first major survey of conceptual artist Sol LeWitt's work in Korea, opening September 1. The exhibition will feature a total of 45 works, including 13 wall drawings realized according to the artist's instructions.

This comprehensive look at LeWitt's career includes his well-known pieces that explore form, color, and space. The wall drawings, a significant part of his output, will be recreated within the museum's galleries for the duration of the exhibition, highlighting the process-oriented nature of his art.

The exhibition is presented in collaboration with The LeWitt Estate and expands upon a previously toured exhibition. APMA aims to bring the works of an internationally significant artist closer to the Korean public, offering a deeper understanding of LeWitt's impact on contemporary art.

Sol LeWitt (1928–2007) was a pivotal figure in the conceptual art movement. His work challenged traditional notions of art by emphasizing the primacy of the idea or plan over the physical execution.
