AMPYR Acquires 70MW Solar Portfolio from TotalEnergies to Expand European Operations

AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has expanded its European presence through the acquisition of a 70MW portfolio of operational commercial and industrial solar assets from TotalEnergies. This move marks a significant step in the company's expansion strategy across the continent.

The acquisition encompasses 17 operational solar sites located in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the UK, and the Iberian Peninsula. This consolidation brings ADE's total contracted capacity to more than 250MW. The acquired assets feature a variety of installation types, including ground-mounted, rooftop, and floating solar systems, all secured by long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with established corporate clients.

John Behan, CEO of ADE, stated that the transaction serves as a "strategic launchpad" for ADE's pan-European vision, positioning the company among key players in multiple countries. He specifically noted the inclusion of Belgium's largest floating solar project dedicated to industrial self-consumption.

Behan further emphasized that the acquisition enhances ADE's capability to support businesses with multi-site, multi-country energy strategies, providing a singular, reliable partner for funding, owning, and operating onsite renewable energy solutions across Europe. This is particularly relevant given the current high energy prices faced by European businesses, where local energy generation offers cost certainty, improved resilience, and emissions reduction.

The deal represents a strategic advancement for ADE's expansion in the renewable energy sector, significantly bolstering its capacity to deliver localized and cost-effective energy solutions to European businesses.
