AMTD Targets Expansion into China's Hubei Province
Financial services firm AMTD has entered discussions with Hubei provincial officials regarding potential regional investment and talent development initiatives.

Hong Kong-based financial firm AMTD has held meetings with a delegation from the Hubei provincial government to explore expanded cooperation between the two regions. The discussions centered on facilitating access to international capital markets for Hubei-based enterprises and fostering financial innovation.
AMTD intends to establish a regional headquarters in Hubei as part of its growth strategy. The firm also proposed the creation of talent training centers aimed at internationalizing the skill sets of university students in the region. Hubei officials expressed interest in these proposals, highlighting the province’s focus on creating an environment conducive to international financial investment.
This move aligns with AMTD’s broader objective of connecting Chinese companies with global resource markets. Earlier in 2019, the firm secured a virtual banking license in Hong Kong in partnership with Xiaomi. The engagement with Hubei represents an effort to deepen its foothold in mainland China's economic centers.
