Amway Donates $300,000 to Salvation Army for Food Security Programs

Amway is expanding its commitment to supporting underserved children and families in the United States with a three-year, $300,000 donation to The Salvation Army. The funding will target food insecurity initiatives and access and programming at Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers nationwide.

Specifically, 25% of the Amway funding each year, amounting to $25,000, will benefit nutritional service programs run by The Salvation Army and support health and wellness programming at the Kroc Center in Grand Rapids. This initiative addresses local hunger issues, where nearly 80,000 children in West Michigan face food insecurity.

"Access to proper nutrition is foundational to a growing, thriving community," said Amway Chief Executive Officer Michael Nelson. "We are proud to partner with The Salvation Army to serve children and families facing food insecurity with a solution that helps meet their needs, within their own neighborhoods."

Beyond nutrition, the donation will also energize educational programming and community access at Kroc Centers, providing a safe and supportive space for underserved children and adults. The Grand Rapids center offers a range of activities, from sports and arts to childcare and specialized training.

Amway's support for communities where it operates is a long-standing practice, with the company investing $3.5 million in over 100 nonprofit organizations in 2024.
