The market for dryers in China is experiencing steady growth but remains in its early stages compared to mature markets in Europe and North America. Several factors contribute to the slow adoption of dryers among Chinese consumers.

Traditional sun-drying habits strongly influence consumer behavior. Many Chinese households prefer natural drying, believing sunlight disinfects clothes and imparts a fresh scent. This cultural preference is particularly prevalent in northern China. Even in the humid south, where rainy seasons present challenges, many consumers still rely on balconies or outdoor drying racks rather than investing in dryers.

Consumer misconceptions regarding dryer performance also pose a significant obstacle. Some buyers mistakenly assume the drying function in washer-dryer combos is equivalent to standalone dryers. However, integrated models often exhibit lower drying efficiency, longer cycle times, and higher energy consumption, leading to subpar results and diminished perceived value.

Space constraints present another barrier, especially in urban dwellings. While standalone dryers offer superior performance, the space they require can be an issue for many Chinese consumers, who may not consider them an essential household appliance.
