ANDRITZ to Supply Turbines, Generators for Bhutan's 600 MW Khorochhu Hydropower Project
ANDRITZ has received an order to supply four turbine-generator units for Bhutan's 600 MW Khorochhu hydropower project. The contract covers design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.

International technology group ANDRITZ has secured a contract from Khorochhu Hydro Power Limited to supply four turbine-generator units for the 600 MW Khorochhu hydropower project in Bhutan. The project is expected to generate approximately 2.5 terawatt-hours of renewable electricity annually.
The contract, valued in the upper double-digit million-euro range, is included in ANDRITZ's order intake for the second quarter of 2026. ANDRITZ's scope of supply encompasses four Pelton turbines, generators, auxiliary equipment, and balance of plant, along with design, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Hydropower is a cornerstone of Bhutan's economy and energy supply. The Khorochhu project is anticipated to be one of the country's larger hydropower initiatives, playing a role in national energy planning and economic development. This contributes to Bhutan's goal of expanding its green energy capacity.
ANDRITZ will leverage its manufacturing facilities in India and its global network to execute the project. This order strengthens ANDRITZ's presence in Bhutan's hydropower sector, where it has been involved in previous projects and operates a joint venture.
