Anduril and Qualcomm announce 2027 launch for US-manufactured laptop
Defense contractor Anduril and chipmaker Qualcomm plan to launch a laptop manufactured domestically in the United States by 2027.

Defense technology firm Anduril and semiconductor manufacturer Qualcomm have announced a collaboration to produce a laptop entirely within the United States. The companies aim to bring the first model to market by 2027.
The project is designed to comply with Buy American procurement standards, a move that distinguishes it from current industry norms. Major U.S. computer companies currently rely heavily on assembly operations in Asia, with no large manufacturer maintaining significant domestic production facilities for consumer laptops.
The initiative forms part of a broader objective to establish a fully domestic supply chain for the computer industry. Such a shift would require significant restructuring of global logistics and manufacturing networks that have been consolidated outside of the U.S. for decades.
The 2027 timeline provides a specific target for the development of both the product and the necessary localized supply chain infrastructure.
