Anduril and Qualcomm Partner to Develop Domestic U.S. Laptop Hardware

Defense technology firm Anduril and chipmaker Qualcomm have announced a collaboration to produce a laptop with a domestic supply chain.

27 October 2026

Anduril, founded by Palmer Luckey, is shifting its focus toward domestic computer hardware manufacturing. In partnership with Qualcomm, the company aims to establish a laptop production process that sources components within the United States rather than relying on global supply chains currently concentrated in China.

The project, dubbed BlueChip, seeks to address long-standing concerns regarding hardware security and supply chain vulnerabilities. By emphasizing localized manufacturing, the initiative targets sectors that require high levels of supply chain oversight, particularly in defense and national security applications.

While the industry has largely shifted hardware production to Asia over the past several decades, this collaboration represents an attempt to repatriate core component assembly. The companies have yet to disclose full technical specifications or a commercial release timeline for the hardware.
