Harsini, founder of an animal advocacy nonprofit, joins a list of past recipients that includes Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Jane Goodall, and Sir David Attenborough. The award includes a $20,000 AUD cash prize.
Harsini has chosen to donate the full prize amount directly to his animal advocacy nonprofit organization. The award ceremony took place in Austin, Texas.
