"Ba Xian!" draws inspiration from the traditional legend of "The Eight Immortals." It tells the story of eight mortals who impersonate deities to access a treasure trove meant only for gods. They embark on a quest for riches together.
The film has garnered positive reception from audiences, holding an 8.2 rating on the review platform Douban. Notably, 35.3% of reviews awarded it five stars, while only 0.8% gave it a single star.
