Directed by Cheng Teng, who also directed the animated film "Jiang Ziya," and with screenplay contributions from Zhang Chun, a writer for "Detective Chinatown 2" and "Detective Chinatown 3," the film aims to blend mystery with humor.
The story is set in the ancient Chinese capital of Chang'an, where a young detective, Di Shao, and an intern constable, A Sa, are compelled to team up to solve a series of perplexing murder cases. Their investigation uncovers a hidden conspiracy within the city.
The production also features Yellow Mint, known for visual effects work on numerous Disney films including "Zootopia 2," "Frozen," and "Big Hero 6." The delay allows the team additional time for post-production refinements.
