Anker Announces First Over-the-Counter Hearing Aids

Anker is entering the hearing aid market with its first over-the-counter (OTC) devices, announced at IFA 2026. The company expects the hearing aids to be available in the coming months. This launch follows the recent withdrawal of LXE Hearing, the parent company of Eargo and Lexie Hearing, from the US OTC hearing aid market, potentially creating an opportunity for Anker.

The new devices feature a receiver-in-canal (RIC) design, with the main unit resting behind the ear. They are powered by Anker's Thus chip, which was announced in April and previously featured in the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds series. Anker claims the chip provides exceptional voice isolation.

The OTC hearing aid market has seen growing interest, partly due to regulatory shifts aimed at increasing accessibility. Anker's entry could provide consumers with new, potentially more affordable options for hearing assistance.
