Ant International completes Hong Kong dollar tokenized interbank transfers
Ant International has executed interbank transactions in Hong Kong dollars using tokenized deposits on its blockchain-based settlement platform.

Singapore-based payment technology provider Ant International conducted live Hong Kong dollar interbank transfers between September and October 2026. The project involved collaborations with Bank of China (Hong Kong), China Construction Bank (Asia), and HSBC.
The transactions utilized tokenized deposits settled in central bank money. These transfers were facilitated through the company’s blockchain-based wholesale settlement platform, WhaleRTP, operating under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s EnsembleTX initiative.
Technical logs indicated that the settlement process, from payment instruction to final receipt, took no longer than five minutes. Ant International stated that the infrastructure provides the company with round-the-clock liquidity access for cash management purposes in the region. The firm has been participating in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Ensemble Sandbox since 2024 and joined the project’s architecture community in 2025.
