Antara Cruises Resumes Luxury River Service with Enhanced MV Ganga Vilas
Antara Cruises has relaunched its MV Ganga Vilas vessel, reinstating luxury river cruises between India and Bangladesh. Following a significant enhancement program, the ship now includes the first open-air sun deck pool on the Ganges River, setting a new standard for regional river travel.
The relaunch signals the return of one of Asia's distinctive cross-border river cruise experiences. The vessel's itineraries connect historic destinations, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and vibrant riverside communities across both nations.
Raj Singh, Founder & Chairman of Antara Cruises, stated the addition of the outdoor pool demonstrates the company's commitment to providing world-class facilities and enhancing the guest experience. "Luxury is about constantly evolving the guest experience," Singh said.
Originally inaugurated in January 2023, the MV Ganga Vilas pioneered the world's longest river cruise. The vessel is designed to reflect Indian culture and art, blending traditional elements with modern amenities. Bookings are open for voyages in India late 2026 and throughout 2027, with India-Bangladesh departures beginning in 2027.
