Anthropic Adds Claude Opus and Sonnet Models to Voice Mode
AI company Anthropic has now incorporated its more advanced Claude Opus and Sonnet models into its voice mode functionality. This expansion allows for deeper and more complex voice interactions within applications like Gmail, Slack, and Canva.
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has now made its powerful Claude Opus and Sonnet language models available through its voice mode. This update expands the company's voice support, previously limited to the faster, less capable Haiku model, to include these more sophisticated AI systems. The new voice features are being integrated into popular applications such as Gmail, Slack, and Canva.
When Anthropic initially launched its voice mode, the intention was to allow users to get quick answers to simple questions. However, users rapidly began employing the voice feature for "real business problems," extending far beyond basic Q&A. The Haiku model, while fast, lacked the depth for such complex tasks. Anthropic states that the more capable Sonnet and Opus models are "explicitly designed to solve complex problems."
With Sonnet and Opus, users can now receive more in-depth responses and analyses. The models can also directly perform tasks based on user requests. For example, Claude could organize a conversation into a pitch deck or reschedule calendar appointments if a user's train is delayed, all through voice interaction.
Users can seamlessly switch between text and voice input within the same conversation and change models at will. If a user has an idea through a quick chat with Haiku, they can switch to Opus for a deeper discussion without restarting. Furthermore, the language support for voice mode has been significantly broadened. Beyond English, French, German, Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese have moved out of their testing phases and are now officially available. This global expansion makes Anthropic's advanced AI more accessible to a wider international audience.
