Anthropic reports significant expansion in enterprise customer revenue

AI firm Anthropic disclosed a 900% net revenue retention rate, driven by enterprise clients scaling their usage of the Claude platform.

2 November 2026

Data released by Anthropic as of September 30, 2026, shows a net revenue retention (NRR) rate of 900%, indicating that existing customer spending increased ninefold over the previous year. This growth highlights a trend of enterprise clients expanding their AI deployment rather than relying solely on new customer acquisition.

The number of high-value clients is substantial, with over 11,900 customers contributing more than $100,000 annually. Among these, 1,900 spend over $1 million, and 250 entities contribute at least $10 million in annual revenue. Anthropic attributes this growth to a tiered strategy that encourages organizations to move from simple API integration to internal deployments of tools like Claude Code and Cowork.

Internal data reveals that customers utilizing Claude Code demonstrate significantly higher engagement levels compared to those using only standard interface versions. Following a record-breaking revenue of $16.28 billion in the first half of 2026, the company reported its first quarterly operating profit, a milestone achieved amidst preparations for its public market debut.
