Anthropic rolls out voice mode for Claude Opus and Sonnet models
Anthropic is expanding its Claude voice mode functionality to include its more powerful Opus and Sonnet models and integrating it with applications like Gmail and Slack.
AI company Anthropic has now made its voice mode feature available for its more capable Claude Opus and Claude Sonnet models. Previously, the voice functionality was limited to the company's faster, but less powerful, Haiku model.
The expansion allows for voice interaction on more complex tasks that Haiku was not as well-suited for. Anthropic noted that users had already begun using the voice mode for more than casual queries, employing it to "work through real business problems," tasks for which Haiku's speed was optimized for quick exchanges but not necessarily complex problem-solving.
In parallel with the model expansion, Anthropic is also extending the reach of its voice mode into third-party applications, including integrations with Gmail, Slack, and Canva. This broader integration aims to facilitate a more seamless use of AI across various workflows and communication platforms.
The broader availability of voice features for Anthropic's advanced Claude models and their integration into common applications represents a move towards making AI assistants more accessible and versatile for a wider range of daily tasks and professional needs.
