Anthropic targets $3.5 billion from Japanese investors for US IPO
AI firm Anthropic plans to raise up to $3.5 billion from Japanese investors as part of its upcoming initial public offering in the United States.

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic intends to sell up to $3.5 billion in shares to Japanese investors as part of its US initial public offering, according to a regulatory filing submitted on November 2. The proceeds from the sale are earmarked to fund working capital, operating expenses, and future capital expenditure.
While the filing did not disclose the specific valuation or total size of the IPO, market speculation has touched on figures as high as $1.5 trillion. This would mark a sharp increase from the $183 billion post-money valuation Anthropic reached during its recent $13 billion Series F funding round.
The disclosure also highlights the company's aggressive infrastructure strategy, with plans to allocate up to $567 billion toward compute resources. The move to engage Japanese investors follows a similar trend seen during the SpaceX IPO in June, where investors from the region secured $2.2 billion in shares.
