Antietam Broadband implements automatic speed upgrades for Washington County customers
Antietam Broadband is increasing internet speeds for thousands of residential customers in Maryland without additional fees.
Antietam Broadband has initiated a series of automatic internet speed upgrades for its residential subscriber base in Washington County, Maryland. The adjustments are applied automatically to existing plans, requiring no service calls or changes to monthly billing cycles.
Under the new structure, users previously on 250โ300 Mbps plans are being upgraded to 500 Mbps, while those with 500โ800 Mbps service will receive 1 Gbps. Additionally, customers currently on 1.3 Gbps plans will move to 2 Gbps. General Manager Chris Shipman stated that these improvements are the result of ongoing infrastructure investments designed to maintain network performance for bandwidth-intensive activities like remote work and smart home management.
Beyond these upgrades, the provider is continuing the rollout of its 5 Gbps service through its Flight Fiber network. The company has indicated plans to eventually offer 8 Gbps speeds across its service areas in Washington and Carroll counties, as part of a broader effort to modernize its regional network.
