Antigravity reduces drone entry price to $799 with new control system

Drone manufacturer Antigravity has reduced the entry-level price of its A1 drone to $799, a 50 percent decrease from the previous $1,599 price point. The price adjustment is tied to the release of a new 'Follow Me' kit that substitutes the company’s previous virtual reality headset and motion controller setup with a simplified wristwatch and ring interface.

The shift in hardware reflects a change in target user experience, moving away from full first-person view (FPV) immersion toward a more portable, simplified flight control method. The A1 model retains its original 360-degree camera capabilities, allowing users to reframe footage post-flight.

By decoupling the drone from the high-cost headset hardware, Antigravity aims to lower the barrier for consumers who prioritize automated tracking and ease of use over complex manual pilot controls. This pricing strategy positions the firm to better compete with consumer-grade camera drones in the mid-range market segment.
