Aogebio Cosmetic Introduces Phenylethyl Resorcinol (377) Brightening Agent

Aogebio Cosmetic has introduced Phenylethyl Resorcinol (377), a synthetic active raw material for cosmetic formulations aimed at brightening the skin and reducing pigment spots. The ingredient, also known as 377 in the industry, is manufactured through organic synthesis to achieve over 99% purity.

The company states that the fine, off-white powder possesses excellent oil solubility and broad formulation compatibility. According to Aogebio, global safety assessments have found Phenylethyl Resorcinol (377) to be low-irritant and non-sensitizing, making it suitable for sensitive skin and post-procedure care without damaging the skin barrier.

Phenylethyl Resorcinol (377) reportedly works by a dual mechanism. It strongly inhibits tyrosinase activity, a key enzyme in melanin production, by competitively binding to its active sites. Additionally, it is said to block the transport of melanosomes to keratinocytes, preventing large-area pigment accumulation and accelerating the metabolism of pigmented cells.

Consistent use in skincare products at compliant concentrations is claimed to visibly reduce dullness, fade sun spots and acne marks, and delay UV-induced darkening. Aogebio suggests the ingredient offers both immediate brightening and long-term anti-tanning effects.
