Aokah and industry leaders identify five trends reshaping global capability centers
Aokah and industry executives have identified five key trends influencing the evolution of Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The report highlights the need for more strategic implementation processes, particularly concerning AI and outcome-driven governance.

Aokah, in conjunction with industry leaders, has identified five pivotal trends that are reshaping the future of Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The report emphasizes the crucial shift of these centers from cost-optimization units to strategic partners and innovation hubs.
The ability to "Globalize Work with Confidence™" is identified as a paramount capability for the next decade. Despite the significant evolution of GCCs, over 72 percent of new centers experience delays or cost overruns within their first two years. These challenges are attributed to systemic issues rather than personnel or location problems, a gap Aokah aims to address.
Key identified trends include the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) moving beyond pilot phases. Eighty-three percent of GCCs are already investing in generative AI, with a majority planning to implement agent-based AI solutions. Furthermore, the necessity to transition from activity reporting to outcome-driven governance is highlighted, as only 21 percent of organizations possess a mature governance model for AI despite its rapid adoption.
Other trends identified involve the need for strategic planning that extends beyond traditional project management and the adoption of new quantitative metrics. Corporate expectations for measurable business outcomes are continuously rising, demanding a more strategic approach from GCCs and better alignment with overarching company objectives. Aokah's objective is to empower organizations to manage global work with confidence.
