APA-Comm Launches AI Visibility Score

Austrian news agency APA-Comm has launched an AI Visibility Score (KI-Visibility-Score) as part of its OTS press release service. This new feature aims to help companies ensure their published announcements are discovered and presented within AI-powered search results.

The development is driven by the growing trend of AI features in search engines like Google providing direct answers without users needing to click through to websites. "Over 60 percent of Google searches now end in a zero-click search," states Carina Engel, Head of Product Management at APA-Comm. "This means it is now essential for companies to ensure their content appears in AI summaries."

APA-Comm believes its OTS press releases serve as a valuable tool in this new landscape, as they are frequently ranked highly by AI systems such as ChatGPT. The company's portal, ots.at, where all OTS releases are published, is also cited as a common source for large language models (LLMs).

The AI Visibility Score is calculated by analyzing how often a press release appears in response to a generated query across leading AI systems, including Bing Copilot, ChatGPT, and Google AI Mode. The score, available for free within the PR-Desk tool, provides a probabilistic indication of how likely a company's messages are to surface in AI-generated answers.
