Apple Acquires AI Audio Editing Firm Samplab

Apple has acquired Samplab, a Swiss AI audio editing company, reportedly to enhance its Logic Pro software.

19 October 2026

Apple has acquired Samplab, a Zurich-based artificial intelligence audio editing company. The acquisition is expected to bolster Apple's capabilities in audio manipulation and improve its professional music production software, Logic Pro.

Founded in 2020, Samplab specialized in AI-driven audio editing tools. Its technology allowed users to modify individual notes within audio tracks and offered advanced features for separating and editing song elements. The company was notably small, with its operations now concluded.

Apple introduced AI-powered track separation into Logic Pro in 2024, enabling users to isolate vocals, instruments, and other components of a song. The integration of Samplab's technology is anticipated to refine these existing features and enable more granular editing of notes and chords.

This move signals Apple's continued investment in creative software and its aim to provide musicians and producers with more sophisticated tools for audio production and editing.
