Apple adds 512GB memory option to Mac Studio lineup
Apple has introduced a 512GB unified memory configuration for the Mac Studio, available exclusively for units equipped with the M5 Ultra chip.
Apple has expanded the configuration options for its Mac Studio desktop by introducing a 512GB unified memory tier. This upgrade is restricted to models featuring the top-tier M5 Ultra chip, which includes a 36-core CPU and an 80-core GPU.
Transitioning from the 96GB memory configuration to the 512GB tier carries a price increase of 116,250 yuan. Apple has confirmed that lower-spec versions of the M5 Ultra chip are ineligible for this memory upgrade, reserving the capacity for the most powerful hardware configurations in the current lineup.
At the high end of the market, a Mac Studio configured with the 512GB memory upgrade and 16TB of internal storage is priced at 229,249 yuan. This pricing structure reinforces the company’s focus on high-performance professional workstations for specialized data-heavy industries.
