Apple adds Apple Pencil support to iPhone Duo with iOS 27.2 update
Apple has expanded the capabilities of its foldable iPhone Duo, enabling Apple Pencil compatibility and adding a new lighting feature for video calls in the latest software update.

Apple released iOS 27.2, introducing long-awaited Apple Pencil support for the iPhone Duo. This update fulfills a previous commitment from the company to bring stylus input to its foldable handset before the end of the year.
The update also includes a new 'Edge Light' feature designed to illuminate the user's face during video calls by utilizing the screen's periphery. This addition addresses usability concerns regarding low-light performance on the device.
The iPhone Duo, which features a 7.6-inch internal display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, relies on specialized iOS 27 controls to manage its dual-screen interface. While major software platforms such as Microsoft Outlook, Netflix, and Prime Video have adapted to the hardware, other applications continue to experience compatibility limitations.
The iOS 27.2 update is currently rolling out to users as Apple attempts to refine the software experience for its foldable hardware ecosystem.
