Apple adds horizontal reachability mode to iPhone Duo in iOS 27.3 beta
Apple is testing a new software feature in iOS 27.3 designed to improve one-handed navigation on the foldable iPhone Duo.
Apple has introduced a horizontal "Reachability" feature in the first developer beta of iOS 27.3. The update aims to resolve usability issues identified by users and reviewers following the October 23 launch of the iPhone Duo, specifically regarding the difficulty of reaching across the device's wide external display with one hand.
Unlike the standard vertical Reachability feature found on other iPhone models, the iPhone Duo implementation allows users to shift the interface horizontally to the left or right via a gesture. This adjustment makes the far sides of the display accessible to the user's thumb.
The feature remains in the testing phase. Apple is expected to release the update to the general public in December.
