Apple agrees to $250 million settlement over delayed Siri AI features

Apple has reached a $250 million settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit that accused the company of misleading consumers regarding the availability of specific Siri artificial intelligence features. The lawsuit claimed that promised AI capabilities for Siri on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 models were not delivered in a timely manner.

Eligible individuals who purchased affected iPhone models in the United States between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, can now file a claim to receive a portion of the settlement fund. The included models are iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The legal action centered on allegations that Apple advertised advanced Siri features, such as on-screen awareness, which were initially previewed in mid-2024 and expected by early 2025. However, the rollout was reportedly delayed by approximately 18 months, with the features eventually arriving with iOS 17 earlier this month.

While Apple does not admit any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to the settlement payment. Claimants can expect to receive at least $25, with the potential to receive up to $95 depending on the total number of claims filed. The deadline to submit a claim is December 21, 2026.
