According to the filing, Apple alleges that OpenAI only recently provided a MacBook belonging to a former employee central to the lawsuit. Apple claims this device contained discussions about "destroying the types of forensic data Apple needs," suggesting a potential effort to conceal information relevant to the case.

The lawsuit, initiated by Apple, accuses OpenAI of stealing trade secrets to develop an AI device. The core of the legal action involves three former Apple employees who have since joined OpenAI. Apple contends these individuals improperly transferred proprietary information to their new employer.
