John Ternus has officially taken over as Apple's Chief Executive Officer on September 1, with Tim Cook transitioning to the role of Executive Chairman. Ternus's initial public communications as CEO included launching official accounts on social media platforms Weibo and X.
His first posts featured a greeting in Chinese and English on Weibo, stating "你好 hello," followed by a simple "hello" on X. Ternus has been with Apple since 2001 and previously headed the company's hardware engineering division.
Apple's leadership page now lists Ternus as CEO and a board member, while Cook assumes the position of Executive Chairman, indicating a formal change in the technology giant's top leadership.
