The new Home Hub device, codenamed 'J490' for the desktop version, will feature a roughly 6-inch square display and support both wall-mounting and tabletop placement. This move aims to further integrate smart home devices into Apple's ecosystem, leveraging an improved Siri AI for control and personalization.
Key features of the Home Hub include user identification via voice or facial recognition, allowing it to adapt the interface based on individual Apple accounts. It can display contacts, calendars, and notes, and includes a guest mode for privacy. The device is also intended for video calls, intercom functions, music playback, and displaying photo slideshows.
