Apple Explores Round Screen and Screenless Apple Watch

Apple is said to be considering significant changes to the future of its Apple Watch smartwatch, prompted by increasing competition in the smart fitness device market. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the company is investigating possibilities such as an Apple Watch with a round display and a completely screenless, bracelet-style fitness accessory.

The current Apple Watch design has remained largely consistent since its inception. These new concepts, if realized, would represent the most substantial shift in the product line's history. Concurrently, Apple is also exploring different price points, evaluating opportunities for both the high-end market and more affordable options.

Potential hardware evolutions may also coincide with software reforms, including the integration of AI capabilities into the "Health" app. However, Apple has not yet finalized any direction for these concepts, and their market release is not expected in the near future, potentially taking several years.

In the short term, the Apple Watch will continue its normal update cycle. The company plans to release the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 this fall, which are expected to feature processor upgrades, new color options, and enhanced fitness features.
