Apple has released its new HomePod Mini 2, now available for preorder. The speaker features the S10 chip and enhanced functionalities, launching October 30th.
Apple has officially launched the HomePod Mini 2, making the updated smart speaker available for preorder. The new model, appearing nearly six years after the original, is priced at $149 and begins shipping on Friday, October 30th.
The speaker is powered by the S10 chip, which debuted in the Apple Watch Series 10. This new chip is designed to enable a range of enhanced features, including a more capable Siri AI assistant that will be integrated via a future software update, aiming to provide users with better assistance.
Furthermore, the HomePod Mini 2 offers improved integration with other Apple devices. It can be paired with the new Apple TV 4K to create a four-speaker surround sound system. The device also functions as wireless speakers for Mac computers that support Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
Technical details also indicate a display on the top surface of the unit, though its specific functions have not been further detailed. The HomePod Mini 2 aims to bolster Apple's smart home offerings with a blend of enhanced performance and expanded capabilities.
