Apple HomeView Repair Without AppleCare Nears New Device Price
The cost to repair Apple's new HomeView smart home hub without AppleCare is $279, approaching the device's $299 retail price.
Apple has released repair costs for its new HomeView smart home hub on its U.S. website. Without AppleCare coverage, the service fee for "other damage" is $279. This amount is only $20 less than the device's $299 retail price, representing approximately 93% of the cost of a new unit.
The 7-inch HomeView smart home hub was recently released by Apple and is available for pre-order in the U.S. and other markets, with shipments scheduled to begin on November 13. Both the standard and wall-mounted versions are priced at $299.
Current repair options do not break down specific issues like screen damage or speaker malfunctions, grouping them under "other damage." Consequently, the repair cost for both the standard and wall-mounted models without AppleCare stands at $279.
For users with AppleCare, the service fee for accidental damage is significantly lower, set at $39. This flat fee applies regardless of the type of accidental damage and covers both model variants.
